Sun, Sand and Sea World in San Diego, California

Just north of the Mexican border in sunny Southern California, you’ll find San Diego, a vacationers paradise perfectly located among several must-see attractions. San Diego temperature rests at a comfortable 60 to 70 degrees year-round with slightly cooler evenings.

With soft sands and warm skies, San Diego beaches make an ideal sunbathing, scuba diving and surfing destination. Enjoy a pleasant evening bonfire and barbeque along with a light-hearted game of volleyball. Then take a romantic stroll on the boardwalk with the roar of ocean waves crashing under your feet. Some of San Diego’s most popular beaches include South Mission, Mission, Mission Bay, Pacific and Blacks Beach.

San Diego’s traditional Hispanic culture also shapes the city’s attractions. Your vacation is not complete without a visit to the area’s most incredible missions. Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala , the state’s first church, was founded in 1769 and is now an active catholic parish.

The temperate city is an incredible family get-away filled with shows, fun and adventure. Major tourist attractions include The San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, Sea World and Legoland. A day at the zoo, home of more than 4,000 animals and 800 species,  should definitely include a visit to Tiger River, Polar Bear Plunge, Flamingo Lagoon and the Giant Panda Research Station. Next on the itinerary, the Wild Animal Park just 32 miles away with an astounding 700 acres of free range exhibits where you can experience lions, zebras, cheetahs, wild horses and antelopes.

Sea World is an amazing adventure where you’ll watch shows staring breathtaking marine life, then hit the rides in between. Possibly the most popular show is Shamu’s Believe, both entertaining and educating audience members on the world of killer whales. Other popular shows include Dolphin Discovery, Clyde and Seamore’s Risky Rescue and R.L. Stine’s Haunted Lighthouse. In between shows, feel the thrill at the Journey To Atlantis®, Shipwreck Rapids® and Wild Arctic®.

Finally, Legoland is ideal for families of young children, with low-key, Lego-themed rides which appear like they’re built of Lego bricks and activity various parks. Each separate section, eight in all, includes a Lego miniland, or village modeled after a famous landmark crafted entirely of Lego bricks. Explore Fun Town, Pirate Shores, Dino Island and Knight’s Kingdom – all within a day’s visit.
